Tracy Lister is one of Duo’s most dedicated staff members. She’s been with Duo since 2009, when she started as a volunteer puppy raiser. She joined the staff in 2011, first at the front desk then transitioned into her current role as the Assistance Dog Client Manager.
What are your responsibilities?
I field all inquiries regarding assistance dogs, help applicants through the application and placement processes, oversee the annual recertification of all of our assistance dog teams and I am also here in a supportive role for them if they have questions or are in need of assistance.
What is your favorite part of the job?
Seeing the impact our assistance dogs have on our clients is amazing as is watching the bond that forms between them over time.
What makes you feel proud?
I think it would have to be the dedication of our volunteers. Duo could not do what we do without them. We have a very small staff but we have an army of volunteers, 700 strong! They are amazing people who are committed to our mission of positively impacting the lives of others.
Who is your favorite Duo dog?
I have two favorites: Rigg and Sunny. Rigg is a gentle giant, very laid back and the ultimate cuddler. Sunny lives with me and my family and is one of Duo’s breeding females – a happy go lucky girl and the best walking partner anyone could ask for.
