Coronavirus Planning and Precautionary Measures

Dear Friends of Duo:

At Duo Dogs, we have been actively monitoring COVID-19 (coronavirus). We have been working with others in the community to identify best practices that can be utilized in the prevention of spreading COVID-19, as well as preparing for any potential changes we may want to implement at Duo.  The health and safety of our staff and volunteers is paramount and as such we are sharing the following update and will continue to inform our communities as plans change and develop.

As of today, both the CDC and WHO have reported that there is no evidence that our canine friends can act as a source of infection for COVID-19.  We will continue to monitor for any changes.

As of March 13, 2020, we have made a number of operational adjustments including the following;

  • We have postponed obedience and touch therapy classes through March 30, 2020.  Information regarding upcoming classes will be communicated via email to those that have already registered.  We will also update any information on our website and Facebook page.
  • All volunteer activities, including Touch and Paws for Reading visits, along with Kennel Enrichment, new volunteer orientation, scheduled meetings and site tours have been cancelled through March 30th, 2020.
  • Although we love seeing your smiling faces we are limiting access to the building to staff.  Please reach out to Duo at 314.997.2325 if you need assistance.
  • Duo staff are partnering with our facility cleaning company to ensure that all necessary measures are in place to disinfect surfaces on a regular basis.

We will continue to monitor the situation closely and will continue to take necessary measures to ensure the well-being of our staff and volunteers.  We encourage you to keep updated through our website and Facebook page.

Be safe…..

Peggy
