“Those who can do, those who can do more volunteer”….this is a quote I had written over my desk for the past year and now more than ever it resonates to me how I personally, and Duo as an organization, view our amazing volunteer community.
The first thing that many people mention when they visit Duo or hear about is tell me about your volunteers. What do they do for Duo? A better question is what don’t you do…Every day there is some type of volunteer at Duo, whether they are answering the phone, or whelping, or doing kennel enrichment, or taking a Touch class. You are the heart and soul of our organization. You live and breathe the mission of Duo Dogs and that’s why you are so powerful. You are at Duo because you believe in it…you have made friends, because your shared connection of making a difference, and you are admired by everyone that comes in contact with you.
Your gifts of time, talent and treasure are priceless and I wish we could personally celebrate you this week in person. But I want you to know we do celebrate you every day and are so thankful for each and every one of you. You are strong, not only in numbers (700) of you, but strong in your passion and commitment.
Please stay safe, and be well, and we will see you soon!
With deep gratitude,
P.S. When we can gather again we will have a celebration!
