The challenges of this past year have helped us realize the importance of family, community, and caring for others. Your generosity allows us to remain committed to improving the lives of our clients through our integrated programs and processes. Our dogs provide courage and comfort, stability, independence, heart and soul. That’s what a Duo dog stands for, because when a client and dog are together, they become the Duo.
Duo Facility Dogs, like Puck are placed with handlers at legal, medical, and educational organizations to provide strength and support when people are facing some of life’s toughest situations. Puck serves at the VA Medical Center and VA Community Living Center at Jefferson Barracks. Puck’s enthusiasm encourages veterans during challenging occupational and physical therapy sessions. With Puck’s love, kindness, and encouragement, therapists have reported far fewer cancellations since he has been “on staff”.
To breed and train one assistance dog costs the organization over $40,000. You can help us make those dreams of independence come true through a gift to Duo Dogs. Your gift can help us to provide a dog to a facility that works with abused children, to an individual who needs assistance in their everyday life, or to support our new PTSD program.
