DESCRIPTION:  \n \n  \nGet Ready for the 5th Annual Duo Dash 5K & 1-Mile Dog Walk! \nMark your calendars — the Duo Dash is back! Lace up your shoes\, leash up your pups\, and join us for a day of fun\, fitness\, and fundraising\, all to benefit Duo Dogs. \nThis year’s race is extra special as we’ll also be celebrating Duo Ambassador Dog Barclay’s 8th birthday at the Dash! \nHelp us make Barclay’s birthday extra sweet by bringing a donation to the race: \n\nNew hard dog toys (all ages)\nDog training treats (Zuke’s or Charlee Bear preferred)\nCoconut Oil\nRound cotton pads\nHead to our wishlist for more ideas.\n\nTeams are encouraged to set up fundraising pages for their dogs and compete in a friendly contest for ultimate bragging rights — who will be crowned the highest fundraiser? \nWhether you’re running\, walking\, or cheering from the sidelines\, it’s going to be a paw-some day you won’t want to miss! \n  \nBoth races will start inside the park at the Son’s of Rest Shelter. \nSign up by August 21st to guarantee a shirt. \nPacket pick-up will be on Thursday\, September 10\, from 4-8 PM\, and Friday\, September 11th\, from 12-6 at Duo Dogs. \nThere will be no packet pickup on the morning of the race. \n  \n

While receiving treatment and care for an aggressive brain tumor at St. Louis Children’s Hospital\, Jake Tallon formed a special bond with Duo Dog Casey that brought comfort and connection during a difficult time for the entire family. Following Jake’s passing\, the Tallon family chose to honor his memory in a remarkable way by funding the training and placement of Casey’s successor. Their generosity will ensure that future children and families experience the same comfort\, companionship\, and support that meant so much to Jake and his family. Through their commitment\, Jake’s legacy will continue to bring hope and healing to countless patients for years to come. \nWe are also proud to honor Duo Dog Casey\, one of our Facility Dogs at St. Louis Children’s Hospital. Casey provides comfort and support to patients and families in the NICU\, PICU\, and Pediatric Oncology units\, while also responding to requests from the Heart Center\, Ambulatory Procedure Center\, Emergency Department\, and Neurorehabilitation Program. Casey’s work exemplifies the life-changing difference Facility Dogs make every day\, bringing moments of calm\, connection\, and hope to children facing medical challenges. \nProceeds from The Blue Tie Gala support Duo’s mission to build extraordinary bonds between people and dogs that improve lives. \n  \nTickets are on sale now!\n
