This year, we are proud to honor the Tallon family. While receiving treatment and care for an aggressive brain tumor at St. Louis Children’s Hospital, Jake Tallon formed a special bond with Duo Dog Casey that brought comfort and connection during a difficult time for the entire family. Following Jake’s passing, the Tallon family chose to honor his memory in a remarkable way by funding the training and placement of Casey’s successor. Their generosity will ensure that future children and families experience the same comfort, companionship, and support that meant so much to Jake and his family. Through their commitment, Jake’s legacy will continue to bring hope and healing to countless patients for years to come.

We are also proud to honor Duo Dog Casey, one of our Facility Dogs at St. Louis Children’s Hospital. Casey provides comfort and support to patients and families in the NICU, PICU, and Pediatric Oncology units, while also responding to requests from the Heart Center, Ambulatory Procedure Center, Emergency Department, and Neurorehabilitation Program. Casey’s work exemplifies the life-changing difference Facility Dogs make every day, bringing moments of calm, connection, and hope to children facing medical challenges.
