Rob Verbarg

Community Volunteer

Rob Verbarg began his association with Duo Dogs in 2013, taking his dog to obedience training at the former Support Dogs Inc. and, ultimately, becoming a Touch Therapy volunteer. He joined the Board at Duo Dogs Inc. in 2023. Rob and his wife Janet, along with their giant breed Leonbergers, Glacier and Ozark, have participated in Touch Therapy visits at nursing homes, hospitals, schools, and special events. They love visiting St. Louis Children’s Hospital, providing visits and comfort for patients, staff, and family members.  They also participate in Paws for Reading, at several local area elementary schools and have visited hospice patients. Both teams are participants in the Duo Response Dog program. Rob was a career McDonnell-Douglas/ Boeing employee in St. Louis, finishing his career as a manufacturing engineer in the Phantom Works division, specializing in advanced manufacturing and prototyping. Rob is passionate about his family, enjoys the outdoors, and loves spending as much time as possible at their family cabin and property in the Missouri Ozarks. They live in Kirkwood and have 3 children and 3 granddaughters.
